Making your vision of architectural art glass a reality involves three distinct and integrated steps.
1. Design and Planning
Glassworks can interpret blueprints and work to exact detailed specifications. We can also take a concept and transform it to reality. We provide guidance with engineering issues and can suggest value-engineered solutions to meet budgets. Collaboration and open lines of communication ensure that your project is designed to your complete satisfaction. We work with architects, interior designers, contractors and homeowners. Together, we create a design that fully meets both aesthetic and functional requirements. In addition, we develop timetables to make certain that production time matches project schedules.
Once a design and schedule are set, fabrication can begin. This stage of the process requires technical expertise combined with an artisan’s skill and vision. In preparation, we often make samples to ensure visual, tactile and specification correctness. During any stage of the process, clients are welcome to visit the studio to see their project in production. Typically, fabrication takes four to six weeks.
3. Delivery and Installation
Upon completion, your glass pieces are carefully crated and delivered safely to anywhere in the world. Installation of architectural art glass is usually among the last stages of construction and at times requires special skills and tools. We can provide detailed installation instructions for contractors and trades people, along with any necessary hardware and structural supports. If the installation is particularly large or complex, we will send an installation team or a supervisor to complete the installation.
